Update

Hi all,

It has been a while since I posted, but I hope all are doing well. Allswell here, except the weather is in the sub 10-degree range of late. Other than that I completed an exam in asset pricing, think it went well, thank God. And Visited Greece and Germany. Athens, Santorini, Thessaloniki, Munich and Berlin in that order. Basically it was an awesome experience, will go slightly into depth maybe later today or tomorrow.

Cheers,

Where the Seas Meet

Hi,

Just came back from a cool roadtrip to the northenmost point of Denmark (Grenen) and stopped by the towns of Skagen and Aalborg. Grenen is where the North Sea and the Straits of Denmark meet.

Oh ya, also caught Mr. Big live at Train Station with JJ. Hooo.... Awesome! A Masterclass. With Pat Torpey providing a lively groove, Sheehan and Gilbert cool layers and duels, and Martin heart-wrenching vocals, it was a night to remember.

Orientation Week

Hi guys,

Haven been posting much, been busy with all the stuff at school and all. But anyway, last week I had a real great time at orientation. Meeting new people, learning more about the school, playing wacky games and stuff. Had the priviledge of meeting people from all over the world, from America to Australia, Canada to the Czech Republic. All really friendly people here. Throughout the week our fun and friendly tutors (i.e. OGLs) Troels and Louise brought us around and oriented us to the school and culture. Basically it was a blast... Here are some pics. =)

Had a few lessons this week, but mostly spent it trying to settle the courses I'm gonna take for this sem. Will try to update more! Cya!

Cykel

Hej,

Today met up with Xu Xian in the morning to rent a bike and we headed down to Moesgard. Moesgard is on the eastern edge of Aarhus and boasts a pleasant forrest beside the beach. The water there is extremely clear, think Tioman or Redang without the fish.

Subsequently went to school to fill in some stuff, and should be heading out to meet another smu guy later, jin jie. Wonder whether I should ride or take a bus? The terrain here is undulating to say the least, well at least for my Singaporean legs, haha. I'll just post a video for now. Check later for more photos. Cya. =)

Hej!

Hi!

Aarhus is great for so many reasons, and not least for it's helpful and friendly inhabitants. So far so good. I'm still kinda adjusting, mainly to the fact that everything is in Danish, but starting to learn a few words here and there. Groceries and clothes here are slightly more expensive than sg, but the ultimate is transportation. For example, a bus ride to the city costs 18 Kroner, which is approximately 5 Sing, no wonder everyone rides bikes around here.
Notice in the picture that there are three different types of paths for three different modes of transport. The dark black tar one is for bikes. This occurs throughout Aarhus.

Anyway, my first cooked meal in Denmark,

Denmark

The land of Blue Cheese, the first national flag, Peter Schmeichel, and Michael Learns to Rock.

Aarhus while strolling

Note the white bird at the bottom of the above picture? It's a seagull. Aarhus is situated on the Eastern side of Jutland very near the Baltic sea and so instead of mynahs and sparrows a la Singapura, you see alot of gulls (and pidgeons). Oh, and the Danish version of the cockroach is the ladybird, imagine that. Saw a few of them flying about on the streets. There are cockroaches la, saw a shell in my dorm, haha, but rare... I hope.

Can't see the scale here, but that's a normal paper plate, i.e. those kind we use for BBQ's in sg. Cost about 45 DKK, around 13 sing.

I heard a voice through the discord
A deluge of passersby
I saw one gaze frozen in time
Watching me passing by

Sian

Liverpool is the ultimate...

They must have some sorta penchant for disappointment... Fresh from a 2-0 win over Chelsea they go down to Everton 1-0 in Extra Time. What the hey?

Nontheless.. (breaks out in song):

When you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,You'll never, ever walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,

You'll never, ever walk alone.

Pedigree

Hi,

Managed to clock 40++mins of jogging today... woohoo...!

Then headed down to Gramaphone to see if they had 'the Altar and the Door' by casting crowns, apparently they didn't. But I stumbled upon this album by Juliana Theory, it was on offer so I just bought it. I remember listening and enjoying "If I told you this was killing me would you stop?" back in the day. Checked out youtube and you should listen to "this is your life" too. Then walked on... walked on.... to PS and got it from Sembawang.

Love Casting Crowns, remember hearing their whole self-titled first CD after a friend bought it for me... but if anyone hasn't heard it.. you really should...

Earmuffs

Hi all,

School is well and truly underway... The mods are definitely more challenging, but I kinda enjoy them because I am really learning stuff. As in intriguing, helpful stuff... So we'll see how the grades turn out when I'm really learning for mastery. =)

Also got a chance to meet up with KT before he heads back to the land down under to finish up his studies... all the best dude! and cya around.
